Katie is a GP in Sussex with over 15 years of primary care experience. She was the Accountable Officer of Coastal West Sussex CCG for 6 years, commissioning care for a population of 500,000 people with a budget of £750M. She is an experienced clinical leader at a regional and national level. Katie is passionate about integrating care and is skilled in relationship building across diverse systems.
As a practising GP, with experience of both partnership and salaried general practice Katie brings a deep knowledge and understanding of primary and community care. As a commissioner she bought together the local health care system, commissioning a whole system integrated urgent care service and proactive frailty service as well as supporting and developing primary care to come together to form local care networks as early as 2016. She moved the acute trust away from PbR to an Aligned Incentive Contract to enable collaborative working.
Katie is also passionate and experienced in developing clinicians as leaders and championing women in senior roles. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Institute of Health Management.
In her clinical practice Katie has a special interest in women’s health and will be launching a private menopause service in 2020.
Katie has a young son and believes in the importance of work life balance and the benefits flexible working bring to the individual and workplace.
