Tony is the immediate past president of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, whilst the senior Vice President he developed extensive international links. He worked closely with politicians through the Department for International Affairs to promote issues related to women’s healthcare across the developing world.
In his clinical work, Tony has 28 years experience as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in Plymouth where he focused on the development of cancer services in the South West. He served his Trust as divisional director and maintained a major interest in training junior doctors.
In 2012 he was elected Vice Chairman of the Academy of the Royal Medical Colleges and now serves as its Honorary Treasurer.
In his consulting work, Tony brings enormous personal skills as an independent chairman and advises care economies on the quality and configuration of obstetric services, His recent UK work is facing two very different challenges in Cumbria and South East London.
